Letter to FDA
Yet again, parents are faced with another alarming FDA decision. On August 4, 2026, FDA authorized new flavored On Plus nicotine pouch products made by Helix Innovations LLC, an Altria subsidiary. The new flavors include “Rich Berry”, “Autumn Spice”, and “Cappuccino”.
We are increasingly concerned by the FDA’s continued authorization of flavored nicotine products that risk drawing more young people into addiction and keeping them hooked. FDA is gambling with our children’s health as they authorize novel-flavored addictive products despite their known and unknown harms.
Families across the country are faced with the consequences of youth nicotine use, watching their children struggle with dependence and related health and behavioral impacts. Nicotine pouches are especially troubling because they are small, discreet, easy to conceal, and sold in flavors that appeal to young people.
Join us in urging FDA and the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services to stop authorizing youth-appealing dangerous flavored products.
