NEW YORK IN ACTION
NEWS
YahooNews: Top New York City officials announced Thursday that the city is suing 11 distributors of vaping devices in a lawsuit that seeks to end their illegal distribution and create a new fund to warn youngsters off nicotine. Dorian Fuhrman, cofounder of Parents Against Vaping, described the city’s lawsuits as a “first step,” but said much more needs to be done.
News12NewYork: “We had a program where we sent volunteers across the city...of the 300 or so stores that we sent volunteers into, more than 70% of them were selling illegal flavored vapes. That is absurd and it’s important to close those loopholes and give the authorities better ability to enforce the law because a city without laws cannot thrive,” Meredith Berkman told News 12 New York.
